About Me

My name is Joshua Taylor. I have a Master’s of Science in Biomechanics degree (graduation in June 2024) with the Biomechanics of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Lab at the University of Toronto, where my thesis was: The effect of neuromuscular fatigue and prophylactic knee bracing on lower extremity joint kinematics. I received my Bachelor’s of Kinesiology in 2021 from the University of Toronto, where I participated in an undergraduate thesis program (Demonstrating knee control across more tasks is associated with superior performance) and was inducted into the R. Tait McKenzie Society for achieving a top 10 GPA in my faculty’s class during my graduating year. I have research experience with both marker-based and markerless motion capture technologies, force plates, electromyography, and Visual3D. I have teaching experience at the University of Toronto, where I was a teaching assistant for multiple biomechanics classes and taught a lecture on ligament injuries and injury mechanisms, in addition to leading human cadaver labs for an anatomy course.

My interests and hobbies include playing guitar, classic rock, skiing (where at one point I was an internationally-ranked downhill ski racer), and watching any sport that is on TV.
